I love learning about diffrent religions and discussing the effects of it on people ... i personally believe in the bahai faith as most of my family does :)... some people have asked me about the basic laws a bahai follows so here it goes: The basic teaching of the Baha'i Faith is summed up in several principles: (1)the essential unity of religion (the nine world religions are part of an unfolding Divine Plan); (2) the oneness of humanity (i.e. the elimination of prejudice); (3) the equality of men and women; the harmony of science and religion; (4) universal education; (5) a universal peace tribunal; (6) a universal, auxiliary language; and (7) the elimination of the extremes of wealth and poverty. These teachings were promulgated by Baha'u'llah, who Baha'is believe is current Messenger of God. Though Baha'u'llah died in 1892, it is believed that it will be about a thousand years before a new Messenger appears. The history and teachings of the Baha'i Faith are outlined in books as BAHA'U'LLAH AND THE NEW ERA (John Esslement), SOME ANSWERED QUESTIONS (Abdu'l-Baha'), and ALL THINGS MADE NEW (John Ferraby). These books can be found at many local libraries, or through a local Baha'i group or center. (Check the phone directory). If there is no local Baha'i assembly, contact the Baha'i National Center in Wilmette, Illinois.
